Brown, Brown, Brown

>> Monday, February 28, 2011

Hello all and welcome to another little piece of inspiration from my part of the world.

It's time for a new challenge here at Mad For Markers. The challenge is up and here are the details:

Male Cards – Use Brown Copics on your Creation.

That's it. pretty simple this month. All you have to so is use brown Copic Markers on your creations.

I have used a digi image from Make It Crafty this month. I didn't want to do the normal male image so I have chosen a bird house instead. I really like this image as you can really change it up and use totally different colours to make it more of a girly image or just use the browns like I have for the male version.(Sorry for the poor quality photo. Not sure what happened)

Copics Used:
E33, E35, E37, E59, E49.
YG91, YG93, YG97.

I have added some small Kaiser flowers and some pearls and I then added a fence I cut using a Ti Holtz Die. I coloured it with some walnut ink to carry with the brown theme. Remember your card can have anything on it as long as it follows the theme for the challenge and you have used your Copic Markers somewhere on your creation.

Mad For Markers is now stocking The Greeting Farm stamps so if you don't have that perfect male stamp check out the shop here: http://www.madformarkers.com.au/catalog/

Have fun with the challenge, there is a small prize for a random winner at the end of the month and make sure you keep checking back every day for more great inspiration from the rest of the design team.

Thanks

Mel B

Princess?

Good morning everyone. It is Tracey here on another Thursday
with 'hopefully' some inspiration for you all.

Now I coloured this image for the challenge (of course) but when I had
finished the hair it so did not match the DP. Hmmm what to do. Well
the best thing about Copic markers is that you can colour over
dark colours and it still won't contaminate the marker colours.
Go to list of Copics to see what I used for the hair to fix.

Copics used:
Hair: R59, R46, R43, R29 (to fix colour).
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E02
Crown/dress: R0000, R00, R20, R32
Boots: W9, W7, W5, W3.

Door Hanger using Sammi's Copic Fairy

>> Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Hi all, Our talented DT Boss Lady Sammi has been doodling and gave us this cute 'Copic Fairy' to play with, now I was just imagining how nice it would be to craft in peace and quiet (which doesn't happen often enough lol!) and the idea was born to make a door hanger.  Just might be good enough to put on the door for our 'Colour Copic Confence 2011' held in October at Sydney full details here.  We sure would love to see you.

I have coloured the clear rhinestones with BV08, YG09, YR16, have used spicas in various places (outer edge of wings, hair band, boots.

Copics used, thought I would have a go with a photo, as always wanted to do this lol!  But think I will stick to a list in future, as I couldn't get them all the right way round!

You have until Saturday to get your entries in, we sure would love to see more amazing crazy hair colouring.

Thank you for visiting, happy crafting, take careX:)

Crazy Hair Combo ~ Green and Brown

>> Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Hi Copic Lovers,

Alicia here today, with a new card for the Crazy Hair Challenge.  This has to be my most favourite M4M Challenge yet!  I have gone with another Kenny K image (hope you arent sick of me colouring them yet!) and I chose the colours brown and green to base my card and image on.

I made a Tri-Shutter card.  To do this take a 6x12 inch piece of card stock.  Score it at 2, 4, 8 and 10 inches.  Then cut between the 2 and 10 inch score lines at 2 inches and 4 inches.

I used the following Copics to colour my image:
Greens: G14, YG06, YG23, YG11
Browns: E47, E37, E35, E31
Reds: R59, R27, RV34
Greys: C-1, C-3, C-5
Skin: E21, E00, R20

Why not join in the fun with our Crazy Hair Challenge right here at Mad for Markers!
Its a great excuse to colour hair in some crazy ways!

The Crazy Dance!

>> Monday, February 14, 2011

Hello to all our copic Lovers.....................

It's time for another card for the current challenge here at Mad For Markers which is "Crazy Hair" Combos. I think the challenge is fitting for what is happening around the world at the moment. We have had such terrible weather and I know there will be a lot of people out there who feel like they are going "crazy".

I chose this "The Greeting Farm" image which reminded me of the saying, Sing like no one is listening, dance like no one is watching, live like there will be no tomorrow, work like you don't need the money........ and I cant' remember the rest but I think we could all do with a bit of craziness, dancing like no one is watching us and singing like no one is listening. Live like there is no tomorrow, and just enjoy what we have here and now.
I have been practicing my colouring lately and trying to get the hang of fading to white in the middle of the colouring. I am not sure how great it looks but I am pretty happy with the result.
Copics:
YG03, YG11, YG23.
E50, E51.
RV10, RV13.
C3, C5.
You still have plenty of time to get your own creations in so why not colour like no one cares how it turns out and just have fun with some awesome colours. Remember they have to be crazy colours using your copic markers.
You can always check out The Stamp Spot here http://www.thestampspot.com.au/catalog/ if you are in need of some new stamps.
Happy colouring
Mel B

Crazy Hair Colour - Purple and Orange

>> Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Hi all, first I have to say STUNNING hair colours from the DT and our entrants, can't wait to see what else you creative people come up with!  So continuing our Crazy Hair Copic Colouring Challenge, we would love to see hair not coloured in the usual blondes, browns and brunettes.  Now you can use one of Sammi's from her chart here or make up your own, please let us know which colours you use so we can try them out too and they could be part of Sammi's soon to be released new hair colour chart.

Now I think I have tried to be a little too ambitious for my colouring talents but, so had to have my fave colour purple and next fav colour orange together, so here is 'Sweet Pea Blue Eyed Fairy'.

A side look to show the gorgeous lip colour using Lavender Spica pen and special effects (I do have to confess to having had a gorgeous sparkly lippy just like this), also used Lilac Spica for eye shadow.  Shows the special effect on the paper toled flowers, eyes and choker, also a closer look at the orange copic coloured flowers.

Copics

Hair - V12, V15, V17, YR00, YR02, YR04 & 0
Skin & face - E000, E00, B26, R20, & Lilac Spica for the eyeshadow
Choker and dress BV01, BV02, BV04, BV08 & Gold Spica

Crazy Pink Hair

>> Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Hello Crafty Copic Lover's,

The New challenge here at Mad for Marker's literally is a 'challenge' for me lol. I am a traditional type of boring Copic person, who uses browns for hair. But, as you can see by my card below I have jumped out of that square and into the unknown and enjoyed it lol.

I have used a Kenny K digital image to colour in for this card. His images are so much fun and are great for our "Crazy Hair Challenge" as crazy colours suit the characters lol. And don't be frightened our your Copic's as the wonderful Sammi has posted a Crazy Colours chart to help you out with selecting Copic colours, click HERE for a look!

Here is a close up of my crazy hair coloured image. Can you tell pink is my favourite colour??

And here are the wonderful Copic colour's I have used to colour my image.
So I encourage you all to step our of your comfort zone and go crazy colouring in some crazy hair colour's on your favourite images! And don't forget to stop by Mad for Marker's online store for more crazy Copic Marker's.
Thanks for stopping by.

Crazy Hair Combo - Red and Black

>> Tuesday, February 1, 2011

Hi Copic Lovers,

I am so excited about this new challenge here at Mad for Markers...Crazy Hair Colour Combo!
The place to live out your crazy hair fantasies!
I play it pretty safe with my own hair...don't change it around too much...but I admire the people who are brave enough to go a bit crazy with their colours and cuts.  It is great fun to colour some crazy hair combos...wonder what I would look like with black hair with red streaks....

Today I am showing a card I coloured in a few nights ago.
I am LOVING these Kenny K images....am pretty new to them, but they have renewed my love for colouring...the Magnolia's just werent "doing it" for me lately.  These Kenny K's kind of remind me of playing barbies when I was little...dressing them up in crazy clothes and styling their hair.  So I chose to go with the colours Red and Black for this girl...I coloured her in first and then I found papers to suit...normally I do it the other way round...find the papers and colour to match them.

She was originally going to be a birthday card, but when it came to putting on the sentiment I decided she was more Valentines so I just added a chipboard heart and coloured that with Copics too.

The colours I used were:
Greys: C-1, C-3, C-5, C-7
Black 100
Outline BG10
Reds: R59, RV29, R29, R85
Skin: E51, E00, R20

I was so tempted to add glitter, but hubby said it didn't need it...it is a masculine card (for a man) after all, so I took his advice...but I am still thinking a little glitter here and there would be nice...

So what are you waiting for??
Get some crazy colours out and enter our Crazy Hair Colour Combo challenge....its heaps of fun!

Alicia xx
