New Challenge - Bron's Sketch

>> Monday, July 25, 2011

Good morning copic lovers it is Bron here today and it is time to bring you our new challenge for the fortnight which is a sketch created by me.

I remember a very wise lady telling me once that when you create a sketch you have to look at it and ask yourself ok how would I use that?  If you struggle to come up with possbilities then you know it is no good. I took this advice on board when I created this sketch, being that it is my first sketch ever, and although it is fairly simple I could imagine lots of possibilities when I looked at the sketch.

and here is my card using the sketch:

I have used the following copics for my card today:
Hair - YG24, YG23 & YG20
Top & hat - R59, R46, R35
Jeans - B97, B95 & B93
Shoes - E79, E77 & E72
Skin - E00, E11, E21, R20 & R11

Now dont forget for all you copics needs to head over the the store as Sammi has a great range of copics and accessories and some very cute stamps too.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you will come along and play with us using the sketch. I cant wait to see how everyone is going to use it.

Hugs Bron xo

Better Late Than Never!!!!!

>> Monday, July 18, 2011

Good Evening Copic Lovers,

Firstly I would like to apologise for my late post, I have had one of those days where it doesn't rain, it pours!!!!!!!!!

We are carrying on with our current challenge here on the challenge blog which is to colour with Pink and Yellow. These two colours always look great together. They are also really easy to use and most people have these colours in their collections.

I wanted to show you just how easy it is to use your Copic Markers. I know a lot of people get really worried when they see some of the work out in blog land that has been coloured with Copic Markers and think there is no way they could colour like that. I also know shading and lighting is really hard to master.

Today I have coloured a flower stamp which I stamped three times, I then layered the flower onto each other. I did use a little bit of shading but it is a little hard to see in the photo. My card was a pre bought one that was already embossed with the frame and flowers so I just went over some of the flowers with a little bit of colour.

I then punched some little flowers out of blending card and coloured then with just one colour Y32. I then coloured little white pearls with Y35 and added to the centre of the flowers to give a little bit of contrast.

I did this to show you just how easy it is to colour with your Copic Markers and make your card look nice. You don't have to go to all the effort of sitting for 3 hours colouring an image. Even just a little bit of colour will make your flowers stand out.

Copics Used:

R20, R21, R22.

Y32, Y35.

Remember no matter how you colour of what you colour it is all up to you. If you like it, then it is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

You still have 4 days to get your Pink and Yellow creations linked to our blog. We are loving seeing all the different creations. Remember this time around the voting will be a little different You never know, you could be the lucky winner!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping bye and check back every day for some great inspiration!

New Challenge :: Pink and Yellow

>> Monday, July 11, 2011

Good morning Copic lovers! It is time again for a new challenge here at Mad for Markers and this time we have a challenge chosen by the lovely Tanya (who unfortunately had to step down from the DT due to other commitments) so I am posting this in her place :D

we would love for you to use PINK and YELLOW copics on your creations this fortnight! Here is a little inspiration to start you off....

I've pictured the Copics used in with the card but I will list them again for you so you know what went where....

the colours used are:
Face: R0000, R000, R01, RV91, R81
Dress: R81, 83, 85
Socks, R81, R0000
Hair: Y000, Y21
Bling: Y23, RV66
Ribbon: Y21

I also should mention that I stamped this "Blush" image (new from The Greeting Farm... she is out of stock but I have some more flying in soon!) onto watercolour card instead of nice smooth blending card! It creates an interesting effect and can be fun to see the ink getting soaked in, feathering.... but I must warn you that it does soak up your ink... so if you don't want to use up lots of ink at once then stick to the smooth blending card!!

We would very much love to see your creations!!

***N.B *** This week we are letting you vote on your favourite creations... which will replace the DT favourites ... we gave it a bit of a sneaky trial run last week and it seems like it could work ... so we will let you know when the voting is going to start ... make sure you get your cards in there by Sat so they can be voted on!!!

Oh yes... and one random winner will receive a pink and a yellow marker of their choice!

Sammi

It's Your Birthday - Enjoy It!!

>> Thursday, July 7, 2011

Hi there Copic Fans!!

It's Thursday again and that means it's my turn to create and share a card to inspire you to participate in the current challenge over at Mad For Markers.

There is still a couple of days left for you to submit your entry so don't be shy, give it a try.

I have actually enjoyed the challenge of RED HAIR this time. On previous occassions I have gone straight for the dramatic bold reds  but this time I wanted to create a more traditional red head, using the same colours as my previous card for this challenge.

To me, this is the best part of participating in challenges, you get to try something you may not otherwise have been inspired to do. Traditionally I have stuck to the standard brown or blonde hair but I have fallen in love with this particular hair colour now.

For my card i have used this fabulous image from Tickled Pink Stamps called "Lil Pinkette - August".

Click image to see it more clearly

Copic used to colour this image

Skin - E000, E00, E11 and R20

Hair - YR61,YR65, YR68, E33 and E35

Clothes - B91, B93,B95, Y21, Y23, YR61,YR65, C1 and C3
The current Mad For Markers challenge is open now and the fabulously talented Design Team have already posted some stunning creations to get you all inspired over on the Mad For Markers challenge blog. Hop on over there now and check them out.

For all your Copic and related supplies head on over to Mad For Markers online store.

Mad For Markers post to Australia and New Zealand and stock a large range of Copic Markers, Blending Card, Masking Paper etc.

Red, Red and More Red!!!!!!

>> Monday, July 4, 2011

Hello Copic Lovers

Mel B here with you today to bring you another creation for our current challenge which is to colour RED Hair. That's as simple as the challenge is so there is no excuse why everyone and anyone can't take part. We as the Design Team have so much fun looking at everyone's creations.

So Here is what I have to show you today

This is a "The Greeting Farm" Image that I have, I really like to colour her because she has beautiful hair and it looks so great with all different colours.

I have chosen to go a bit wild with her hair this time and not stick to the basic red's.

I think she turned out great. If only I could pull off red hair like this in real life!!!

Copics Used;

Hair: R32, R35, R37, R39, N7, N9.
Dress: B60, B63, B66, C6.
Flower: R20, R21, R22, R35, Y28.
Skin: E0000, E000, E11.

Make sure you check back each day for some great creations from the Design Team. You have until the end of the weekend to get your creations linked to this blog.

If you are running low on stamps or colours to use why not check the Mad shop here: http://www.madformarkers.com.au/catalog/
There is always something there for everyone. You may just need that 1 marker to finish off your red colour combination.

Thanks for dropping Bye

Hi Copic Lovers,

Our current challenge is Red Hair.
This is a card I made awhile ago for my Mum for Mother's Day.
She has red hair so that is why I coloured it red.
The hair on the lady on the card is a little more vibrant than my Mum's but not by much!

I coloured with Copics:
Skin: E21, E00, R20, E02
Hair: YR68, R17, R59, E08, YR61, R37
Lips: R59, R37
Blue Dress: B00, B05, B02

I made these flowers with felt paper, kindy glitz and pearls.

Please link up your red hair creations.
I cant wait to seem them!

Red Hair Challenge

>> Friday, July 1, 2011

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to another day here at the Mad for Markers Blog.
This week we started a new Challenge - Red Hair.

I must admit that I was totally out of my depth when I heard that this challenge was being set.
I have never tried to colour 'red' hair & was totally out of my comfort zone.
After putting this off for quite a while I finally searched some blogs for some ideas, only to find that the copic colours they have used for red hair, I did not have. So I came up with my own.

Here is my creation for this week:

Copics Used:
Hair: E17, E15, E27
Skin: E0000, E000, RV00, R35, R37, R43
Eyes: B23, B26, B28
Glasses: T5, T7, T9
Top: R43, R35, R37
Jeans: B91, B93, B95, B97
Boots: E71, E74

Don't forget to stop over at the Mad for Markers Store for all your copic needs.

Until next time
