New Hair Colour - Princess Anya

>> Saturday, January 28, 2012

Hi Copic Lovers,

Alicia here.  I have a "pretty in pink" Anya Princess card to share today.
I am trying out a new hair colour.  A good blogging friend of mine has a limited amount of Copics.  She sent me a list of what she has got and I coloured my Princess Anya stamp only using the Copic colours in her collection.

The colours are:

Hair: E37, E33, Y17, Y11 and Y02
Skin: E11, E21
Pinks: R46, RV34, RV23

Do you have a smallish Copic collection and need some help putting them together on an image?  Why not email me and I will see if I can help you out or leave me a comment on my blog?

Sammi has an awesome collection of the Anya stamps in her store here.
They start at $8 each, which is so affordable.

Mad For Markers [home link]

I am entering this card into a couple of challenges, but all the details are on my blog if you want to find out more.  Don't forget to link up your new colour combo creations to our challenge...not long left on this challenge now!

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Happy Colouring!

A big Hello and a new colour combo!

>> Thursday, January 26, 2012

Firstly, I would like to say Hello to all of you out there in blog world. My name it Tara And today is my first post for Mad for Markers....so please bare with me!
I love bright colours and especially blues and greens, so i thought, with this challenge a new colour combo, why not do the complete opposite and go for black and grey! you cannot get more of a different colour combo that that for me! So i Decided to scrap my daughters latest fancy dress outfit and use TGF CC Wednesday. (ed. Wednesday is currently winging her way from the US to Mad for Markers - she should be here soon!!)
I tried to colour her in only C colours and black(100) but i had to give a little colour to her face.
I also used several Fiskars border punches and i made up the photo frames on the PC and cut them out.

Here are the colours I used to colour Wednesday.

I did use AtYouSpica in silver and clear on the stamp as well. and a Copic multiliner to give Wednesdays hair more definition.

Make sure you check out the Design teams other great creations for this challenge and If you require any of the above markers or a stamp or two you can find all you need at the Mad for Markers Online Store.

And lastly....Don't forget to have a go and enter the challenge on the right sidebar!

Tara :)

A Bit of Green and Grey

>> Thursday, January 19, 2012

Good morning to all our Copic lovers out in blog land.

It's Mel B here again with another little bit of inspiration for you. I know I only posted here last week but we have had a small shuffle around with days so I have the pleasure of bringing you another one of my creations.

This months challenge is to use a new Colour Combination. There are so many great creations already being linked to this challenge and the Design Team are giving you some fantastic combinations daily. You don't have to make a card, your creation can be just a colouring or a bookmark or anything you like. As long as it fits in with the current challenge, and you use your Copic Markers.

It would be fantastic if people could also list which markers they use on their creations, or how their creation fits into the current challenge. I know I have seen some gorgeous combinations already but it is rather hard to pick the colours from photos.

This week I was inspired by a creation that I saw recently and thought I would get my Sweet Pea stamps out. I also wanted to make a card that had no pattern paper on it. I wanted to the card to be relatively simple.

I have used a light shade of yellow green which I don't normally use and I have teamed it up with neutral Grey's. I don't normally colour hair in Grey's so this is definitely a new thing for me but I am loving the way the entire image turned out.

I also added a cut little doily in green that I have had for so long and have just never got around to using it.

Copics Used:
G20, 94, 99.
YG 61, 63.
R01, 81, 83, 85, 89.
E50, 51.
C0, 00.
B01.
N1, 3, 4, 7.
Mint Spica.

If you are looking for that perfect stamp to colour check out the stamp section of the store. We also have plenty of Copic Markers and are sure to have the colour you need to make up your colour combination that you need.

You still have a couple of weeks to get your own creations linked to the challenge.

Thanks for joining in.

Some Odd Girl - Balloon Kaylee

>> Saturday, January 14, 2012

Hi Copic Lovers,

Alicia here.  Today I want to share with you a card I made for our current Mad for Markers challenge - Use a New Colour Combination.  The stamp I coloured is one from Sammi's store.  She is a "Some Odd Girl" stamp and her name is "Balloon Kaylee".  Sammi sells her here at the Mad for Markers store for $9.00.  Isn't she a cutie! Perfect for a birthday card.  She comes with a Happy birthday sentiment as well, but my card was a bit too small to fit it on so I had to use one of my own sentiments.

The new Copic Combinations I used were:

Hair: E35, E31, YR20
Reds: R29, R27, R22, R20
Oranges: YR07, YR04, YR23
Peachy Pink (Balloon): R22, R20, R00

The not new combos were:

Skin: E00, E21, E11
Eyes: W-7, W-5, W-3
Outline W1

I made this card for my cousin Jess who turned 21.  I wanted it to be bright and cheery.
I used a Sassafrass paper on the background and the red and white polka-dot was a scrap.
I added the 21 number stickers in the bottom corner and outlined it all with white gel pen.

Will you join us for our new Colour Combination challenge?
If you want to try some of the colouring combinations I have used I made a list of them on my blog here.  Why not pop over and take a look.

I hope you have a lovely weekend full of colouring!

Until next time,

Alicia xx

Brights for the New Year

>> Monday, January 9, 2012

Hello to all our followers.

This is my first post of the new year so I firstly wanted to start my post by saying Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you were able to spend some valuable time with your family and loved ones.
I was a bit missing in action at the end of last year as I had a lot of personal issues happening in my life but I am happy to say I have got off to a good start and I just hope that is the way the rest of the year goes. We at least the first couple of months anyway.

So our challenge is to try a new colour combination and I have to say when I am colouring I tend to go for the more dull subdued colours. So I thought I would challenge my self and make a card that was bright, bold and vivid.

These are very bright colours for me and definitely not what I would normally use.

Copics Used: YG 06, 07, 09.
V12, 15, 17. Lavender Spica.
RV 04, 06, 09, Pink Spica.
B02, 04, 06, Baby Blue Spica.
RV 63, 66, 69, Pink Spica.
BG05, 07, 09, Turquoise Spica.

You still have plenty of time to get colouring with your own creation. Remember we have changed the challenges to monthly so there is still lots of time.

If you are short of those different colours that you don't have in your stash or wouldn't normally use check out the store here.

Thanks for dropping bye and make sure you check back each day for more great inspiration from the great DT.

New Colour Combinations using Blush Babette

>> Saturday, January 7, 2012

Hi Copic Lovers,

Alicia here.  This is my first post for the New Year at Mad for Markers and this is my first bit of colouring that I have done as well!  I must say I really enjoyed it.

I wanted to try out some new colour combos that I havent used before and I found a big list of Colour Combos here.  I coloured two images of Blush Babette.  She is a dream to colour.  Her hair is fun and her dress has folds so it enabled me to practice those.  Sammi has her in stock for $8.50 here.

In the first image I used a new colour combo for her hair: E35, E31 and YR20.  Suzanne calls this a "golden blonde".
For her dress and socks and shoes I used: R22, R20, R00.  Suzanne calls this colour combo "peachy pinks".  You can also add R21, but I don't own that marker yet.
The skin was not a new combo.  I just used E11, E00 and R20.

For the second image I used Suzanne's dark brunette hair colour combo E50, E53, E57...but when you look at the two hair colours there is not a lot of difference between the overall looks I didnt think.
For the dress I made up my own combo BG000, B05, BG01.  The face was just E11 and E00.

For the faces and skin I coloured lightest first and then added dark, then went back with light to blend in.  But for the hair and clothes I started with the darkest first then went lighter and lighter leaving some parts of the page with no colour at all.  I find this a lot quicker to do.

Dont forget to link up your colouring and show us your new Colour Combos.
Your project doesnt have to be a card.  It can just be a coloured image in your sketch book.

Thanks for popping by and happy colouring.

Try and New Colour Combo Challenge

>> Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Good morning copic fans.....It is Bron here with you today. I am hoping that you have all had a beautiful Christmas followed by a fantastic New Years.

To follow the theme of a New year we thought why not try a New colour Combo!

When I first started making my card I thought I would try some of my purples as they are my least favorite to use....Anyhow after making my card (which I always do first) I realised that although I have used purple patterned paper it is not that prominent but the peachy/pink is. So off I went scribbling away with my pinks and this is the combination I have some up with. R14, R22, R43, R11 & R00.....And here is what it looks like!

The photos are a little dark but it is so hot here in Melbourne that it is just too bright to get a photo outside without it distorting it. Hopefully the second picture gives you a better idea of the colour although saying that it is still a bit pinker in real life.

So here are the copics that I used:

Dress: - R14, R22, R43, R11 & R00
Apron: W7, W5, W3, W1, Roo, YG93
Top: YG99, YG95, YG93, YG91
Hair: E19. E99, E97, Y21
Basket: E77, E19 & Y21

We are looking forward to seeing all your gorgeous creations. Don't forget you have a month now to get entries in.

Thanks for looking.

Hugs Bron xxx
